Alexander Boldachev is a harpist, composer, conductor, and producer, widely recognized as a leading figure in classical crossover and for redefining the role of the harp in contemporary music. European media have described him as an artist who has brought the instrument into the 21st century, expanding its artistic language and audience.
He has performed in more than 50 countries across five continents, appearing at major venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Musikverein in Vienna, and the Elbphilharmonie, as well as at unconventional stages including Burning Man. Boldachev performed at the FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony, sharing the stage with Robbie Williams. He is an official artist of Salvi Harps. His work has also intersected with the worlds of fashion and design through collaborations and endorsements involving Bvlgari (Swiss Family), FENDI, Fornasetti, Burberry, Jacob Cohen and Dolce & Gabbana.
A prolific creator, Boldachev has written and arranged over 300 works, blending classical virtuosity with rock, jazz improvisation, electronic soundscapes, and music for film, games, and anime. His recordings for labels including Indésens Calliope Recoeds, Prima, and Da Vinci Classics have received international recognition, including an ICMA nomination, as well as awards such as the Prix Walo, Aoyama Award (Japan), and Akademia Award (USA). In parallel with his performing career, he is an Adjunct Professor at Azusa Pacific University and a Guest Professor at the Royal Academy of Music (London), Milan Conservatory, and the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Actively involved in theatre, film, and social initiatives, he is the founder of World Harp Day and the Zurich Harp Festival.
